Illness

Knowing when to keep your child home from school may be difficult. When a child has a fever greater than 100 degrees or has had diarrhea or vomited within the last 24 hours, they should stay home from school. This helps to prevent the spread of illness to other students.

Children should be fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication or should be free of vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.

When calling the school to notify that your child will not be there, please give a list of symptoms or a doctor's diagnosis. This is important for state guidelines related to reporting illness.
